Todd Whisson

Artist & Tutor

“ The challenge of capturing the fleeting light and ambience nature offers,

 is what influences my work.”

Born in Brisbane in 1963, Todd Whisson is the son of prominent artist Eric Whisson.

Todd has studied under highly acclaimed and celebrated artists, Kasey Sealy and Herman Pekel, who have both influenced his passion for oil painting, in particular painting outdoors on location.

Todd’s recent work reflects an innate ability to transform traditional concepts into breathtaking and contemporary works of art.

Through his highly skilled command of the palette knife, Todd’s passion and energy is evident in the unique way he brings oils on canvas to life.

Along with the natural beauty Todd employs as inspiration, he communicates immeasurably more than a visual representation. Seascapes and water subjects speak a sense of calm and stillness. Thought provoking landscapes that whisper of a less complicated life.

In a style that could be best described as fresh, modern, sexy and above all innovative, Todd Whisson is without doubt a truly gifted artist.
